WICHITA, KS - The Jeremy Campbell Motorsports team traveled to Dodge City September 12th for the final event of the ASCS Gunsmoke Tour. This also marks the last race of the season for the #10c 360 Sprint Car.
Campbell came into the event 2nd in series points, behind the familiar Ochs Brother owned #1X. A high pill draw put Campbell at the back of Heat 1, but he was able to battle up to 3rd, securing a 4th place starting position for the feature event.
In a green to checkers main event, Campbell was able to work his way up to 2nd and was beginning to reel in the leader, Jesse Pate, when laps ran out. Campbell finished ahead of the #1X team, but was unable to overtake them in points.
"We made a goal to run the full Gunsmoke Region this year, and while it would have been great to secure another ASCS Regional Championship, we are still proud of this 2nd place points finish." said Campbell. "We're juggling full-time jobs, 360 racing, 305 racing, go-kart racing and kids sports, and while we had some times this season we weren't as strong out there as I'd like - we still are a competitive team, and I can't thank the sponsors who make this all possible enough!"
Up next for the JCM Team is a Saturday, October 3rd event with the #51 team at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kansas.
